So.... we actually went and joined the gym last night. Got up and worked out this morning- if you can even call it working out. I wouldn't say it was an epic fail but definitely a major one; I didn't even run a mile! Soooo incredbly out of shape. I ran 3/4 of a mile at a 10:00 min pace, walked a 1/4 mile at a 20:00 pace and then ran the last quarter at a 10:54 pace. Unacceptable. Mickey was still working out (because he's not in sad sad shape like me) so I did some leg work on the machines and then walked a bit at an incline just for kicks while he finished working out. I definitely have a long way to go. Did I mention we only pay $30/mo for both of us?! Can't beat that right?
I also had a job interview today for a full time nanny position for a 2 1/2 year old boy. I think it went pretty well. The mom told me she had one other interview tonight and would like to shadow and interact next week to see how things went. She said the other girl applying had more experience with 2 and 3 year olds but she liked that I had full time experience and a degree. I'm excited to meet the little boy next week. I hope things work out but I definitely understand if she doesn't pick me- after all, its not JUST any job, its someone to take care of her kid so if the other lady is more qualified than so be it.
If it doesn't work out then I'll be calling the staffing company to set up my interview. I think it would be fun though. I wouldn't be stuck in an office, everyday would be a new adventure, and we'd get to do all kinds of fun things like swimming, museums, bookstores... They said he likes to just go to different stores and look and touch things and learn- he really likes the Tractor Supply Store :)
I think it would be fun- little kids are like sponges, they soak up everything. It would be a lot of fun to know that the colors, shapes, numbers, letters, etc he learned b/c I taught him. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't exited and a bit giddy. The little boy is super cute in the two pictures I've seen and his mom is really nice (and pretty!)
Anyways, I'll post the outcome of this leg of my job search.
